RIVERSIDE TO KILDWICK –FARNHILL & KILDWICK MOORS –BLOOMER & BRACKEN HILL TO SILSDEN.
Leave Silsden by Kirkgate, go over the canal and down Keighley Rd. At the river turn to the right over the stile and follow the riverside path (way marked in part) Going right around the flood banks, then on the well defined path to Kildwick (Watch out for resident Herons, Kingfishers, and large pike laying in the shallows). At Kildwick turn right up through the church yard (well worth a look), and over the canal footbridge then up Parsons Walk (the vicarage used to be at the top),to Skipton Road then turn left, after 100yds take the path to the right (signed to Farnhill Moor) Up the hill, bearing left at fork, up the path to Jubilee Tower at the top of the hill. This is a good spot for a break, and to enjoy the spectacular views of Airedale. You now turn right on the path over the moor to Long Cairn, then forward on the path then to the right, going downhill and watching out for a path on left through the bracken to a stile over the boundary wall. Turn left on the path on Kildwick Moor to the ladder stile in right corner at the top, go over then up the field to the stile, and up field to the wall corner stile. Over and up the wall side into Jackson’s Lane, turn right and down into the entry of Bloomer Hill Farm, follow the path across the front of the house, go through the gate, across the field top, over the stile across the road, down the track to the left and rear of Bridge House Farm. Go through the gate, then down the field to the wall stile to the left of the gate. Go down the field side and over the stile on the right at the bottom, go left down the wall side to a gate on the left, go through the gate then bear right down to the bottom of the field, over the bridged ditch and a stile. Cross over the field to the right of an old hedge, then over the stile at the side of the gate, down the field side to Bracken Hill Farm Yard. Go to your left, across the front of the Farmhouse, over the stile, then right over the stile and down the field keeping to left side. At the bottom, go through the gate, over the stream and forward over the Village Green, back into Silsden.
