WALK No.2. 5½ MILES. ALLOW 3½ HOURS.
HORN & BROOK'S CRAG, CRINGLES, WALTON HOLE, VALLEY FARMS.
Start at Wesley Street Car Park, Silsden. Go over the footbridge into the park, go to left pass the bowling green, at the top go up Hawber Cote Drive. At the top go over the stile and follow way marked path up two fields and stiles into Hawber Lane. Go up the lane, through Swatha Hamlet to Brownbank Lane. Go left here, then right on the drive crossing the front of Wellhouse Farm to the way marked gate ahead, go through the gate and round the duck pond to the gate in the corner on the left opposite, pass along the field on the wall side, go left at the end, then go right over the stile in the wall. Follow along the field side to the end of the wall then go right to the top of the field over the stile at the side of the gate then go right and follow the sign up the hill turn left at the wall over the stile in the corner. Cross over the top of the quarry; keep away from the edge and over the fence stile, and then go over the high wall stile in front of you. Keeping to the left, go to and over the stile in the far corner of the field. Go forward again taking the path to the right into Lippersley Lane then go left down the hill to Bolton Road. Here you go left, turning right into Cringles Lane then go straight on until you see the footpath sign on the left, go down to Walton Hole Farm (derelict) go past the farm and through the gate then over the bridge. Go straight up the hill and near the top look out for a gate in the hedge on the left, go through, carry straight on and through the gate on the right, then go left, down the track through gate. Turn left here, but after a few yards, go right down to the bridge and stile, across the field top over the stile, then go forward to the stile slightly to the right, on then over three more stiles in line to Dales Bank Farm (Refreshments obtainable)on the left. Go down the side of the house, over the stile, down the path and over the stile to Pickersgill House pass the front of the house, then go left, down the drive to Ivy House and over the stile at the bottom turning right along the field top to the stile and a bridge. Keep left down the field side, turning right at the bottom then over a further stile at Hayhills Farm. Cross across the entry into the lane opposite. After a few yards, go over the stile on the left, down the field side to the stile and sleeper bridge, cross the bridge, then go right on the field over the stile, keeping the wood to the left, over the stile, go left down the field side to the bottom of the wood, until you are following Hayhills Beck, go left over the bridge, following the path to the right up the hill into Browcliffe and North Street go down to the town centre.
