“SILSDEN MOOR AND FARMS”
Leave Silsden by Bridge, Chapel & North Streets. On the way note the ancient houses in this old part of town. At the top of the hill go left a few yards on Breakmore Avenue to the footpath on the left. Follow the path to the right down the hill, over the bridge, and through the stile on the right. Go up the hill, keeping Brow Wood on your right, over two stiles. At the top of the wood keep to the right of the hedge, and cross over Sleeper Bridge and the stile on the left. Then go up the field and over the wall stile, then go right on the track, crossing a farm entry to the way marked stile in front of you. Cross the field and turn left up the side nearly to the top, then over a bridge in a ditch and a stile, continue along the top of the field, up the steps and up the drive of Ivy House. At the top pass Pickersgill House into Low Lane. Turn right to the stone stile on the left, cross up the fields over the bridge and stiles into Horn Lane, turn right and then up Kiln Hill Lane on the right. Continue up to the Silsden Boundary at Moorgate Farm. Take the track on the right through the gates, pass by Crow Tree Farm, and Jenkin House until Ridge Lane is reached, turn right and after a few yards turn left through Schoolmaster Place Farm. Go between the farm and the house through the gates, at the field bear slightly to right across to the stile in the bottom, into Walkers Lane, left turn and continue to the path on the right leading down to Walton Hole Farm (16th century building). Go past, through the gate, then over the bridge and up the hill. Watch out for a small gate on left of the field in the hedge, go through, then go along the top of the field and over the stile on the right, going left on the track, through the gate at the end, turning left and shortly after go left through the gate to further way marked gates round the back of Foster Cliff Farm, turning right down the field side, following way marks to a point nearly at the bottom on the right, over the stone wall stile at the bottom of the banking. Over, then follow the stream to the right over boggy ground to the footbridge, cross over and go right a few yards, following the marked path to the left up the hill, and continue with a hedge or wall on the side down the valley over several stiles to Low Cringles Farm and into Bolton Road right back into Silsden.
