WHERE DO I FIND CAT SITTERS?

There are a few professional pet sitter organizations where pet sitters can become paid members and be listed in the directory. Here are are some links:

  • Pet Sitter Associates: https://www.petsitllc.com, This is the group I am a member of, It's a nice website thats easy to use, for pet sitters its reasonably priced and they have great insurance. Also many providers in my area were listed here.
  • Pet Sitters International: https://www.petsit.com  I was a member since 2005 and I loved them, they have a great pet sitter locator option, and for the pet sitter awesome insurance options, as well as a very active membership group with training and certifications. They also have a nice quarterly magazine to help pet sitters market better and stay up to date with things in the industry. Unfortunately, their rates were getting so high it was hard to afford them. But This is a very good organization and many pet sitters list their business here.
  • Time to Pet has Local Pet Care: https://www.localpetcare.com. I love time to pet, they have an app for professional pet sitters to run their business and last year during the plandemic, they create a new service where pet parents can search for a pet sitter in their area, from within their providers. This is a new venture and may not include businesses that don't use their app so its not a full local resource yet but a good option to check when on your search.
  • NAPPS National Association of Professional Pet Sitters: https://petsitters.org This organization has been around for a long time, and I never have been a member, but they have a very active organization. They have a lot of professional training available, and activities. They also have a pet sitter locator but in my area there were no other sitters so I decided to go with another organization which had other local sitters in my area.

WHAT ABOUT PET SITTERS WHO CARE FOR ALL TYPES OF ANIMALS?

Cats have a wide variety of purrsonality characteristics, We can't certainly limit them to 4, I am using four types based on their energy levels, needs for a sitter, and how they respond to a visitor. On the Cat Sitter Guide you can see their purr-sonality types listed across the top. We will go through each type, and hear more about their characteristics so you can find your cats and where they would fit.
